The Samosa Vendor!

The Samosa Vendor!

Bombay meri jaan....It was my regular train journey home from work.
I boarded the 18:50pm train from Church Gate.
When the train was about to leave Marinelines,
A samosa vendor with an empty basket got on and took
the seat next to me.
As the compartment was sparsely occupied and my
destination was still far away,
I got into a conversation with him.

Me: "Seems like you've sold all your samosas today."
Vendor (smiling): "Yes. By God's grace, full sales today."

Me: "I really feel sorry for you people. Don't you get tired doing
This tiresome job the whole day?"

Vendor: "What to do, sir? Only by selling samosas like this every day do
We get a commission of 75 paise for each samosa that we sell."

Me: "Oh, is that so ? How many samosas do you sell on an average each day?"
Vendor: "On peak days, we sell 4,000 to 5,000 samosas per day.
On an average, we sell about 3,000 samosas a day."

I was speechless.....for a few seconds.
The guy says he sells 3,000 samosas a day; at 75 paise each,
He makes about 2,000 rupees daily, or 60,000 rupees a month.
That's Rs. 60,000 a month. OMG.
I intensified my questioning and this time it was not for time pass.
Me: "Do you make the samosas yourself?"
Vendor: "No Sir. we gets the samosas through a samosa manufacturer
And we just sell them. After selling we give him the money
And gives us 75 paise for each samosa that we sell."

I was unable to speak a single word more but the vendor continued...
"But one thing...most of our earnings are spent on living expenses.
Only with the remaining money are we able to take care of other business."

Me: "Other business? What is that?"

Vendor: "It is a land business. In 2007 I bought 1.5 acres in
Palghar for 10 lakh rupees and I sold it a few months back for 60 lakhs.
Now I have bought land in umroli for 20 lakh rupees."

Me: "What did you do with the remaining amount?

Vendor: "Of the remaining amount,
I have set aside 20 lakhs for my daughter's wedding.
I have deposited the other 20 lakhs in the bank."

Me: "How much schooling have you had?"

Vendor: "I studied up to third standard;
I stopped my studies when I was in the 4th standard.
But I know how to read and write.
Sir, there are many people like yourself,
Who dress well, wear a tie, wear shoes,
Speak English fluently and work in air-conditioned rooms.
But I don't think you guys earn as much
As we do wearing dirty clothes and selling samosas."

At this point, what could I reply. After all, I was talking to a
Millionaire! The train chugged into Khar station
And the samosa vendor got up from his seat.

Vendor: "Sir, this is my station...have a good day."
Me: "Take care.".

10 Ways to Attract Positive Energy!

Here are 10 Ways to Attract Positive Energy into your life, while boosting your immune system, curing dis-ease, and counter-balancing daily stress:
1.  Love and accept yourself as you are right now.  Start a list to remind yourself of all your wonderful qualities.  Add to it every day.
E.g.,  I am the most positive person I know.
2.  Free yourself from past resentments and disappointments about who you were yesterday.  Stop engaging in self-blame and guilt for past acts and omissions.  Today is the first day of the rest of your life.  Revel in it.
As Scrooge announced on Christmas morn, "I am not the man I was!"
3.  Let go of any and all resentment you're hanging onto about everyone and everything else.  Stop looking for reasons to criticize and blame others for their acts and omissions.  Let go of your desire to control others.
The past is gone.  It is what it is, and cannot be changed.  Let it go.
4.  Stop giving your power away.  Use your time, energy, and vitality wisely.  Every time you choose to focus on a negative, you are depleting your reserves rather than re-charging your batteries.
Focus on circulating and re-circulating positive, life-affirming ideas.
5.  Use creative visualization and your imagination to your advantage, not your detriment.  Instead of picturing worst case scenarios, see things as you want them to be.  Visualize yourself doing things in a state of perfect health.
Visualize ideal outcomes and happy endings, not dire consequences.
 6.  Do not speak of your illness, or dis-ease with others.  The more attention you place on what you don't want in your life, the more energy it absorbs.   Remove your attention from your dis-ease.  Put your focus and attention on the things in your life that make you feel good.
Starve your illness and dis-ease by refusing to dwell on them.
7.  Love is the antidote to fear.  If you appreciate the many blessings in your life, and express gratitude for anything and everything, you begin to flow in  a healing bath (rather than languishing in toxins).  Develop an attitude of gratitude by making a list of all the things you are grateful for, including  increased health and vitality.
Be grateful for the health and well-being coming your way.
8.  Recognize that you have the power to heal yourself.  That healing power flows from the thoughts you think.  Allow positive thoughts to circulate, eliminating stress and boosting your immune system.
There is no such thing as incurable.  Miracles abound.
9.  Be happy.  Appreciate this moment.  Resist nothing.  Love yourself and others.  Be  grateful for small blessings.  Make happiness your number one  priority.  When you remain positive, you summon well-being, and vanquish  illness and dis-ease.
When we exist in a state of happiness, we boost our immune systems and allow our bodies to use energy reserves for healing.
10.  Laugh!  Laugh again!  Watch funny movies and recall memories that make you laugh.  Once you access the joy within, let it expand to fill your entire being, crowding out illness and dis-ease.

Various Methods of being Grateful

1. Gratitude Journal: Write daily 10 things to be grateful and feel that gratitude.

8. Gratitude Meditation. Meditation is the conscious sleeping. Calm your mind and feel your breath and heartbeat in the silence. Our Heart is the portal to connect the supreme consciousness. We all are connected by the portal of Heart Chakra. By paying gratitude to our heart, we can be grateful to everyone.

9. Walking Gratitude: As the Spiritual Teacher and Monk Thich Nhat Hanh has said, "Walk as you are kissing the earth." With every footsteps you can say Thank You.
You can walk 100 thankful footsteps daily, it hardly takes only two minutes.
There was an ad commercial of Idea Mobile with Tagline "Walk and Talk. Walk when you Talk you will be healthy."
You can change it as "Walk and Thank You" or "Thank You Steps". Say Thank You in mind while walking and you will be blessed.

10. Live in Now: STOP for a moment, LOOK around you and FEEL you have everything NOW you need for your life. The only time you always have is Now and God has given you everything you need Now. Live in NOW.

12. Mirror: Go in front of mirror and say Thank You, say I Love You to the person standing in mirror. Everything in your life is the reflection of your thoughts-words-actions ie MANSA WACHA KARMANA. You are that (where That means whatever you want to have or become) TAT TVAM ASI. Be Grateful to Yourself. Love Thyself. Know Thyself.

13: Chanting: Someone asked a question "how to change the life from today itself" to Moozi, spiritual saint. Moozi replied: I have a mantra, I will give it to you, use it again and again. No reasons, No explanations, Just use it. That mantra is Thank You.
Life was never a punisher, life is a teacher. Life is always corrective, so be grateful for that. Thank You.

14. Appreciation: See the good aspects of everyone around you from all walks of life, for every person. Every person wants to be appreciated. When you appreciate them, they give you more reasons for their appreciation. Keep Appreciating.

15. Smile: (S)ee (M)iracles (I)n (L)ife (E)veryday/(E)verytime/(E)verywhere ! Smile ! We smile naturally when we see any beauty. You can see the beauty in everything and SMILE Forever. Seeing the beauty in everyone is like seeing the divine inside. You become the divine by seeing everything as divine, as the gift by God.

Whatever you give in your gratitude merges with the supreme consciousness and reflects back more blessings to be grateful more.

10 URLs Google User Don't Know about it

Here are 10 important links that every Google user should know about. They are tucked away, somewhere deep inside your Google dashboard.

1. Create a new Google Account using your existing email address. The regular sign-up process uses your address as your Google account username but with this special URL, you can use any other email address as your username.

2. Google creates a profile of yourself based on the sites you visit, your Google+ account and other signals. They try to guess your age, gender and interests and then use this data to serve you more relevant ads. Use this URL to know how Google sees you on the web.

3. Google lets you export all your data out of the Google ecosystem. You can download your photos, contacts, Gmail messages and even your YouTube videos. Head over the the Takeout page to grab the download links.

4. If you ever find your content appearing on another website that is using one or more Google products – say Blogger, AdSense, Google+ or YouTube - you can raise a DMCA complaint with Google against that site to get that content removed. This wizard can also be used to remove websites from Google search results that are scraping your content.

5. Your Android device may be reporting your recent location data and velocity (are you moving and if yes, how fast are you moving) back to Google servers. Head over to the Google Maps website to see your entire location history and you also have the option to export this data as KML files that can be viewed inside Google Earth or even Google Drive.

6. Google records every search term that you’ve ever typed into their search boxes. They even keep a log of every ad that you have clicked on various Google websites.

7. You need to login to your Gmail account at least once every 9 months else Google may terminate your account according to their program policies.

This can be an issue if you have multiple Gmail accounts so as a workaround, you can setup your main Gmail account as the trusted content for your secondary accounts. Thus Google will keep sending you reminders every few months to login to your other accounts. Not available for Google Apps.

8. Worried that someone else is using your Google account. Go to the activity report to see a log of every device that has recently been used to log into your Google account. You also get to know the I.P. Address and their approximate geographic location. Unfortunately, you can’t remotely log out of a Google session.

9. This is a complete list of web apps, browser extensions, Google Scripts and mobile apps that have any read or write access to your Google data. If the permission level says “access to basic account info”, it basically means that you have used your Google account to sign-in to that app.

10. This is important URL for Google Apps users. If your Google Account ever gets hacked, use this secret link to reset your admin password. You’ll be asked to verify your domain name by creating a CNAME record in your DNS.
